Robots that deliver their Amazon packages instead of humans. It could soon be a reality. As reported by the media, the American giant is developing software to equip humanoid robots, one day, to replace delivery. These machines would circulate in electric trucks of the manufacturer Rivian, of which Amazon is a shareholder, to deliver plots to customers.
In addition to working in this software, the company would currently try humanoid robots from different manufacturers as part of this project. Among them would be the machines of the Chinese society of Suniter, which are capable of running, cooking or Kung-Fu.
Accelerate delivery
Amazon would also plan to try these robots in a “humanoid park”, whose construction is being completed. It will be an obstacle race present in one of the company’s offices in San Francisco.
These revelations intervene, while Amazon is based on artificial intelligence to accelerate deliveries. The company made several ads this Wednesday, June 4, including the creation of a new team called Agentic Ai (agentic Ia in French), reports Reuters. She will be responsible for developing software to supply versatile robots, which can download trailers and recover parts to be repaired.
They could also be very useful during high demand periods, such as the end of the year celebrations, for tasks such as lifting heavy objects in confined spaces.
