These are neither the iPhone 14 nor the Apple Watch Ultra, but they were also expected. Apple presented the AirPods Pro 2, the latest version of its wireless headphones, during its annual conference at its headquarters in Cupertino, California, this Wednesday, September 7.
Environmental noise reduction twice as powerful
The Californian firm has preserved and expanded the main features that marked the success of the first model in the range, launched in 2019. The AirPods Pro 2 have a new H2 chip, after the H1 of the first AirPods Pro of the name, which allows Get twice as much active ambient noise reduction as its predecessors and covers more frequencies. Spatialized audio is also enhanced and even personalized thanks to iOS 16, using Face ID to create a profile tailored to each ear.
No risk should be taken on the side of the main design elements of the headphones either. The outer stem hasn’t disappeared, contrary to rumors, but the AirPods Pro 2 come with a fourth prong to fit users’ ears. It will also be possible to adjust the volume with a simple slide of the finger on the earpiece.
A loudspeaker to locate the case.
The Transparency mode, which allows you to hear surrounding noise, benefits from a new feature: it will automatically suppress sounds that are too loud, for example when passing near a construction site. Level of autonomy, counts 6 hours of listening, and 30 hours thanks to the case.
The case is still compatible with wireless charging (including the Apple Watch charger), but the Lightning plug is still part of the game, USB-C chargers won’t be mandatory until 2024. Owners of a misplaced case will now be able to find it, thanks to a built-in speaker. Everything will be available for 299 euros from September 23
