Info Tech & Co. “France, a visionary nation”: the Chief of Nvidia trusts Tech & Co

When passing through Paris for a conference and events, the head of Nvidia, Jensen Huang trusts Tech & Co exclusively.

He is the star of Vivatech, and for a good reason: the head of Nvidia, Jensen Huang, is one of the most powerful leaders on the planet since his business gave the artificial intelligence commitment. At the head of the most used fleas in data centers, he multiplied the ads during the Parisian show dedicated to new technologies.

Among them, an association with the French Startup Mistral AI, for the creation of a European “cloud”, in particular to better protect the data of the old continent.

Rare in the media, and both in France, Jensen Huang gave Tech & co an exclusive interview.

A pioneer from the beginning of 2010

If we know Nvidia for its graphics cards in the general public field, do not remember that the company was one of the first to take the question of artificial intelligence seriously. He made fun of the stage, the boss, who was not yet at the head of one of the first market capitalization, stood up:

“At that time I realized that deep learning algorithms were very interesting and carrying it on a large scale would allow us to look for significant abilities,” explains Jensen Huang. “We asked ourselves how AI could change the software and computer function, and step by step, we realized that we had to reinvent the computer, a first in 60 years.”

Ai, a disorder for all

“All sectors are upset, affected, each layer of the computer of the computer has reinvented and transformed, emerges a new sector,” explains the leader, who sees the AI as a new “industrial revolution.”

Jensen Huang explains that he has “automated intelligence”, since it would be useful because it would be useful “for all activities”, in particular education, health and defense. “Nvidia has the capacity,” he says, remembering that “intelligence is above all to understand information.”

For him, “there is no reason” for technology to be able to.

An association with the Mistral AI that could be a date

Held by Emmanuel Macron, the association between the Mistral and Nvidia is an “excellent idea,” according to Jensen Huang.

Because thanks to your company’s fleas, Mistral AI will be able to offer a series of software and characteristics directly available in the cloud: “Mistral can be a European flagship, they are able to do it.”

However, if France is a “very advanced” nation thanks to its technological culture, it must also compose with US companies, he explains.

Robotics ai, the next step

With the “agent” that is gradually beginning to make its hole in the industries of all sectors, Nvidia believes that the next step will be that of robotics: “the next generation of IA will carry innovations.”

For its leader, it is obvious that robots will one day populate houses from all over the world: “We should all have an R2D2 robot in our house if we want. I think the robots will be in homes and factories around the world at the end of the decade.”

Quantum It, Nvidia’s next challenge

Still far from being something concrete, quantum computer science, which is considered by many as the next computer revolution, is, however, in all minds, and in particular those of Nvidia officials.

However, Jensen Huang’s confession is a “thorny” issue: “There have been recent advances in computer science enriched by quantum chips, which will allow the development of quantum computers and their long -term applications.”

If quantum technology is several decades, it took so long to design something realistic at an industrial scale. But Jensen Huang is convinced that these new technologies will one day arrive in the hands of the general public: “But we are not going to reinvent the wheel,” he warns.

Nvidia in front of Chinese banishment

Particularly important market and that can be as efficient as the United States in AI, China can no longer count on Nvidia after Donald Trump’s decision not to allow the company to distribute its chips, including the least powerful.

“This is the second market in the world for this, and we have the prohibition of selling our fleas in China, which made us lose about 30 billion dollars,” explains Jensen Huang, despite the fact that the super Asian power forms 50% of the researchers of AI in the world.

If you want American “win” technology, the head of Nvidia, however, it is pleaded with the end of prohibitions, citing difficulties to come 6g: “6g will be based on AI, and if we do not spread US technology, 6G will be based on something else.”

Ai and energy consumption

On the question of energy consumption by generative artificial intelligence, Jensen Huang supplicates that “thinks of two ways”: “The objective is not to cause AI, which is very important, but use. Everything is optimized by AI, the energy efficiency of AI is excellent. But you must think about long -term time.”

For Jensen Huang, the countries that will decide to join the “revolution” will allow you to optimize it more in terms of energy consumption: “AI can help us discover new ways to save energy in all areas.”

He also quotes France as an example thanks to his energy park composed of nuclear in the majority: “He was visionary to recognize nuclear energy, investing, and is an important source of energy.”
