Be careful before inserting pirate cartridges into their new Switch 2. For a few days, several owners have complained on the networks to see their blocked console. After trying to launch pirated games in the latter, they received this message.
The console is not unusable, but it can no longer benefit from Nintendo’s online services. This impacts the particular updates of the game, access to the Nintendo store and the possibility of playing online.
Warned users
However, Nintendo had warned. A month before launching the Switch 2, the Japanese company changed the conditions of use of its consoles. In this new regulation, a measure stipulates that Nintendo now reserves the right to digitally block the console if the latter used pirate games. It is clear that the Japanese giant puts its threats.
The consoles that were blocked have one thing in common: they used Mig Switch, types of cartridges in which we can put pirate switch games to play it. These cartridges have had some success in the first name switch, without Nintendo having managed to avoid its sale.
That is why the Japanese giant did not want to repeat his mistakes. When you want to connect your MIG card to your Switch 2, users immediately ended with an error message.
For several months, Nintendo has been uncompromising in front of the pirates. The company caused the closure of several emulators. In April 2025, the Japanese even forced the host online 1 fiche to pay more than 400,000 euros.
