Telegram Case: The legal control of Pavel Durov aligado, the founder of the social network may leave France

Forbidden to leave the French territory since its accusation in the summer of 2024, Pavel Durov will travel again in the next few days.

Pavel Durov can recover its identity documents and passport, and will have the right to leave France for durations of 14 consecutive days to the fullest, reveal the world and the AFP. Information that Tech & Co can also confirm.

According to the two media, which cite judicial sources, the founder of Telegram, who is still under investigation for several positions linked to the moderation of his messaging and social media platform, will have to fulfill certain obligations.

Therefore, it will be necessary to inform the investigating judge in charge of the case of a trip “with a week in advance” and “only to go to Dubai”.

Pavel Durov always accused

In an interview to the point, Pavel Durov had indicated that one of his children was there, and that he had broken his arm in the place. He had not been authorized to go to the United States and Norway, at the beginning of 2025, due to a strict judicial regime.

Questioned by the weekly about the accusations of which he was subject, Pavel Durov had explained that “anything has never been demonstrated” about his participation in organized crime or the dissemination of pedocriminal content. He also took the opportunity to repeat his accusations of interference of French secret services about the Romanian presidential elections. According to the businessman, the DGSE asked him to close telegram channels belonging to the supporters of the extreme right -wing candidate, finally defeated by his pro -European competitor.

Departments firmly denied by the DGSE.

In this same interview, Pavel Durov described his prohibition of leaving the territory as a “punishment” that affects it “enormously.”

He also confirmed that he was no longer in contact with Emmanuel Macron, saying that he had not responded to the French president for several weeks.

Despite this reduction, Pavel Durov remains under investigation and, therefore, can always be the object of a trial.

Contacted by Tech & Co, Telegram “greets” the decision of the Court of Appeals of Paris: “We trust the fact that the obligation to return to France every 15 days will also rise later in the year, allowing Mr. Durover to devote himself completely to Telegram and its users.”
