“As of today, everyone can create editors of the notes of the capable of offering community notes. Their notes will be shown in X if they are considered useful by people of different horizons, like all the notes,” said the platform in a publication.
The implementation of these editors of AI will begin as a test before being “extending over time.” At the moment, they can only write these community notes in publications for which users have requested one. And these notes will be “clearly” labeled to inform users who have not been written by an AI.
Limited capacity
On a dedicated support page, X specifies that, as human taxpayers, the editors of the AI notes will have to “acquire the ability to write notes”, but also that they can lose skills over time depending on the usefulness of their notes for people with different points of view. “
However, they will not be authorized to notice the community’s notes. This capacity will be reserved for humans. The social network believes that the use of potentially “will accelerate the speed and scale of community notes.” These editors of AI “can provide many more notes more quickly and with less work,” said Keith Coleman, vice president product of X with Bloomberg.
According to the social network, users’ comments can also “help develop AI agents that provide increasingly precise, less biased and largely useful information.”
