Since the beginning of the app’s success, TikTok had never shared its revenue made in France. We already know the 2021 figures of the French subsidiary, published by the media the informed: 29.6 million euros of turnover and 415,371 euros of profit.
The social network has experienced a burst of success during the confinement and thus multiplied its turnover by 11.5 between 2020 and 2021, going from 2.5 million to 29.6 million euros. The application, which reaches more than 19.5 million French users every month, alone accounts for two thirds of the advertising market on social networks.
Globally, the group recently lowered its 2022 ad revenue forecast to $10 billion from the original forecast of $12 billion, according to Bloomberg. It had posted advertising revenue of $4 billion in 2021.
The revenue release appears to be an exercise in transparency, while TikTok is on crisis on the management and sharing of its users’ data. Early November, TikTok Recognized that user data was accessible to employees in China.
The social network assured Tech&Co that these “are not accessible to employees, but to a very limited and extremely controlled number of people outside of Europe to provide 24/7 support to our global community and ensure the platform security.
