Several months after a large -scale test, the Youtube premium lite subscription is launched in France. Google has formalized the news, specifying that this formula was being implemented, so it is possible that you still cannot access the offer. This is billed 7.99 euros per month, against 12.99 euros per month for the premium version.
Compared to the classic YouTube premium subscription, Premium Lite eliminates advertising in “Most of the videos.” This means that not all ads are completely absent when you navigate on the transmission platform.
YouTube explains that advertising will be absent from video games, fashion, beauty, news “and more.”
There is no YouTube music and background reading
On the other hand, you will not have music and musical clips without an advertising page, as well as downloads and reading in the background. Finally, you will not have access to YouTube music, Google’s musical transmission platform.
With 125 million premium subscribers claimed, Google undoubtedly hopes to make this figure grow and capture a new audience. For several months, many users claimed a subscription that does not incline YouTube music, the latter subscribed to other platforms.
The arrival of Premium Lite YouTube is accompanied by a general increase in prices in Google subscription services. The family offer increases up to 29.99 euros per month in June 2025, an increase of 25%.
Google has also accelerated its war against advertising blockers within YouTube, particularly by decelerating the load of reading pages or blocking a user who wants to access certain content.
