Petition against the Duplumb Law: Can we really sign several times?

Since the petition against the Duplumba law had great success at the site of the National Assembly, some Internet users believe that there is manipulation. Noticed information that finds a certain fashion.

With more than 1.6 million signatures at the time of writing these lines, never a petition published at the National Assembly site will have been so successful. First unknown to the general public, the initiative has gained impulse in recent days by largely exceeding the 500,000 firms necessary for a debate, and has known from continuous madness.

Carried out by a young student in corporate social responsibility, the petition wishes to question the duplicate law, which has been voted, and that will allow certain pesticides such as acetamipride, suspected of being harmful to health.

A firm through Franconnect

But in social networks, some users imagine that it is very possible to sign the request several times. Except this is not the case.

Unlike the requests proposed by specialized platforms, those offered at the National Assembly site require connecting to Franconnect.

This service implies being more than 15 years old and having an account on one of the platforms authorized by the Government. This is, for example, the case of the fiscal site (Taxes.gouv.fr), Health Insurance (Ameli.fr) or the identity of France.

The use of France Connect allows, on the one hand, to protect the personal data of the signatory user, but also its anonymity, only the date of birth and the department are transmitted during the request.

To subscribe to the petition, simply connect through Franconnect, then validate your signature. The National Assembly site will simply verify that the Internet user is over 18 years old. On the other hand, it can be French or foreign, as long as France connects access.

During a second attempt to sign, through a new connection with Franconnect, the site of the National Assembly specifies that the petition has already been signed. The only possible action is to withdraw your signature, which makes any duplicate impossible.

“The National Assembly Petition Platform guarantees both the anonymity of all signatories and the fact that each request can only be supported once by an important natural person,” specifies the site of the National Assembly.

In fact, if it does not question the fact that not all firms come from at least 30 departments, the minimum to be validated, the fraud risks seem limited.
