The Irish media regulator indicated that social network X had until Friday to publicize their arrangements to prevent children from accessing pornographic content, at risk of exposing themselves to a strong sanction.
“We ask X an explanation about the measures taken to comply with the online security code for Friday, and we will take measures if there is evidence of non -compliance,” the media commission warned in a statement on Thursday.
Like Tiktok, YouTube (Google) or Instagram (Meta), which are headquarters in Ireland, the Elon Musk billionaire platform was nine months old to meet the new online security code (online security code), adopted in October 2024 to better protect minors. But unlike its competitors, X allows pornographic content openly on its platform.

The companies in question can receive fines of up to 10% of their annual turnover, or 20 million pounds (23 million euros) depending on the highest amount.
The social network X, contacted by AFP, did not react immediately.
