Carbon neutrality by 2035 in Europe and 2050 worldwide is Ford’s top priority today. Indeed, the manufacturer has decided to bet everything on electric vehicles.
But Ford’s horizon also turns to technology and artificial intelligence. Thus, several alliances have been signed, including one with Google, so that the brand’s vehicles can benefit from the Internet giant’s ecosystem.
Enriches the user experience
Starting in 2023, Ford cars will be equipped with services offered by Google, such as Google Maps or Google Play. A way to improve the customer experience according to Louis-Carl Vignon, a guest at Tech&Co: “Software is part of our project. The vehicle generates millions of data per second. These data, if used well, can enrich the user experience.
But Google is not the only giant that has seduced Ford. Within a few months, select vehicles in the Mustang lineup will be equipped with Amazon’s Alexa voice assistant, again to improve the user experience. “Anyone who has their door equipped with home automation will be able to say when they get home: ‘Alexa, can you open my door?'” Louis-Carl Vignon gave as an example.
“The vehicle becomes a kind of smartphone,” explained the president of Ford France, convinced that new technologies will be an integral part of the vehicles that will go on the market. A way to compete with Tesla and its autonomous models, equipped with many technologies.
