Take your swimsuit, do not forget the sunscreen … Before going on vacation to enjoy the summer, think about everything you have to go in the luggage, for fear of going through an accessory, a garment or an essential object.
But we do not necessarily think about the right gestures to protect our electronic devices, starting with the smartphone, which also puts on vacation with us and that can reconcile the dream with heat, water and other factors. Here are seven good gestures to follow to survive the holidays.
Do not expose your devices to the sun
Smart phone, laptop, tablet … do not like the sun. Because most work with a lithium -ion battery, which is vulnerable to heat.
One of the reasons why they should not be exposed to the sun and high temperatures. “Avoid using or recharging your device when the temperature of your surroundings is greater than 35 ° C, since this can permanently reduce battery life,” recommends Apple on a support page dedicated to the maintenance of the iPhone battery.
In addition to the battery, excessive heat can also damage the processor or screen of its devices, with the appearance of dead pixels or discolored areas, for example, as they remove orange. Therefore, it is better to keep them in the shade.
Do not put your smartphone on the beach before the car
For the same reason, it is not recommended to place your smartphone on the beach before the car, even when you use it as GPS. Because this exposes it directly to the sun’s rays through the windshield window.
If you don’t use it as GPS, you can leave it in the glove compartment or simply trust it in the co -piloto. Otherwise, you can use a support to fix your smartphone in ventilation networks, even if this is not recommended either. In summer and winter, because hot air can cause overheating that could damage the device and vice versa with fresh air, even if it can help cool your smartphone.
Do not load your smartphone when it is hot
If the batteries are exhausted faster when temperatures are high, it is not recommended to recharge your smartphone during these periods, especially when the latter is hot. It is not only better to wait for the phone to cool, but also that temperatures decrease. Because the devices are heated during recharge, which can be slow down or even interrupted when they are too hot.
For example, a notification can be shown on the iPhone, informing its owner that the recharge is pending and that only the device finds a “normal temperature”.
And if you have to go through the recharge box during the warm climate, reduce load time as much as possible.
Do not put your smartphone in the refrigerator
When your smartphone is too hot, it can be tempting to put it in the refrigerator or freezer to cool it. However, this practice should be avoided due to the risk of thermal shock.
While it is too hot, its temperature will cool and this can damage its operation irreversibly. The screen can not only cross the screen, the condensation can also be formed quickly inside the device.
Do not nad with your smartphone
Contrary to what you can believe, smartphones are not waterproof. The IP certification is not proof of its seal, but it only indicates that they are water resistant. The IP68 standard means, for example, that a device can support an immersion of 30 minutes 6 meters deep.
In addition, the tests performed to certify smartphones are carried out in a controlled environment, in fresh water, for example. Therefore, they could be less resistant to sea water, with components damaged by salt. Reason why you are not recommended to bathe with your smartphone, either in the pool or in the sea.
Do not dive your smartphone in rice
During your vacation, you can make your smartphone fall into the water. Then you can tell yourself that you have to immerse it in the rice so that the liquid is absorbed. If this practice is popular, it is not to follow. Because not only the rice will not have a specific impact, but you can also damage your phone.
Apple is also strongly recommended against its iPhone, remembering that rice grains can get stuck in the cargo port, but also that small particles can slide everywhere on the device.
Similarly, it is better to avoid using a hair dryer or any other external heat source. Because excessive heat released by this device could have consequences, especially in the battery. Even in a cold position, the hair dryer can damage your device, pushing the water drops present in it.
Do not put your smartphone on your beach bag
Go or return from the beach and save your smartphone with your other things. It may seem like a good idea, but that is not the case. Not only can your towel be wet if it has bathed, but the sand can also hold on to it.
And as rice, sand grains may infiltrate their phone, causing irreversible damage, especially if they are wet. So avoid keeping it with your belongings, but also place it on the beach floor.
