But Thomas Pesquet especially welcomed the experience of the first female helicopter test pilot: “The resume speaks for itself.”
The 44-year-old astronaut, who has made two stays in space, then gave advice to the “succession”, the new promotion made up of three men and two women.
“You have to know how to adapt […] improvise and be very patient,” he said.
This new selection does not mark the end of Thomas Pesquet’s career at the European Space Agency (ESA) because the new astronauts will only be ready for missions aboard the international space station in “one year or 18 months”.
