Before the launch of the Apple Watch 2025, which should introduce new functions to health, Withings took advantage of the IFA to present an optimized version of its connected clock. The French specialist in connected health objects relates the Scanwatch 2, which improves all the strong points of his predecessor.
Throwed in 2023, Scanwatch 2 had caused a strong impression by assuming a medical level electrocardiogram, a temperature sensor and a blood oxygenation measurement sensor, all accompanied by an interesting predictive health monitoring. The 2025 version wants to see more to monitor your health, with an even more predictive, extended autonomy and even more parameters.
Even more complete and precise health monitoring
The Scanwatch 2 maintains its traditional and elegant traditional design design, with a 38 or 42 mm sphere in a stainless steel box, without separating from its connected side that is still so discreet. But it strengthens its health appearance with 35 biomarkers now followed against about twenty before.
The Withings clock always embeds an ECG, can detect atrial fibrillation, follow cardiac variability, respiratory rate, oxygenation rate in the blood, speed or respiratory temperature. The surveillance of the latter is a good stress indicator, recovery, cardiovascular health or female health (even irregular cycles monitoring). Temperature fluctuations are also taken into account to inform the possible appearance of a viral or bacterial disease.
The data and constants remain centralized and administered by the new version of the domestic system, Healthsense 4, which promises to be even more precise, and the information is available in the Withings application that becomes a little more as a health coach (personalized data and objectives, information analysis, motivation, visualization of progress, etc.). But obviously you can combine information with the health applications of smartphone manufacturers.
The night has all the health councils
Scanwatch 2 also finds its usefulness at night with reinforced sleep monitoring. It is enriched with the detection of paradoxical sleep and the different phases of the night, trusting in particular at the night respiratory rate. Withings add an exclusive vitality indicator, an AI designed by the health specialist, to evaluate the level of energy in real time and try to define the causes of fatigue. It is based on physical activity, but also temperature, oxygen saturation, sleep quality and night respiratory speed. Only repentance: that the new function is only available by subscription to Withings+ (3 months offered).
The application provides an evaluation and tips to improve its physical form. Physical activity also benefits from optimized monitoring with the advanced detection of the number of steps and a better recognition of the activity.
On the autonomy side, the French brand extends that of version 2023 when it takes it to 35 days (5 more days), much better than many watches connected with a strong health monitoring, such as Apple Watch (2 days maximum) or the Samsung Galaxy Watch (up to 3 days).
If you want, above all, a clock that will allow you to monitor your well -being, Scanwatch 2 remains an interesting product, with the possibility of obtaining a balance of your health data through the application. On the other hand, you will not find multiple sports followers, third -party applications of entertainment or productivity. The Scanwatch goes to an audience specially concerned about your health, rather than its connectivity. How her old woman does not seem to have a GPS for the race or bicycle, for example.
