During a long conversation in the first episode of the Podcast Access, the billionaire justified these great expenses, considering that it is important to go fast. “No one knows when the Superintendent will be possible. Will it be in three years? Five years? Eight years?” He admitted.
“If we end up wasting a few hundred billion dollars, I think it will obviously be very unfortunate. But (…) I really believe that the risk is higher on the other side. If it develops too slowly and that the superintelligence is possible in three years, but that it develops it by assuming that it will be there in five years, so it is simply out of the game,” said Marker Zerkerberg.
An unthinkable scenario for the Chief of Meta in the face of what will be, according to him, “the most important technology, which will allow the greatest number of new products, innovations and value creation in history.”
Mark Zuckerberg believes that his business can afford to spend so much money to achieve the Superintendent, since he is likely not to declare bankruptcy. It is not the first time that he evokes his ambitions on this subject this year. At the end of July, he had shared his vision of this concept, which indicates that he intends to distinguish himself from others offering people an AI that will be personal. “It has the potential to open a new era of personal empowerment, where everyone will have more means to improve the world in the direction they want,” said Mark Zuckerberg.
Among technological giants, AI has become an investment pillar, potential growth and also concern. Satya Nadella, chief of Microsoft, whose capitalization recently exceeded four billion dollars, said last week that AI could “plant” its business, causing its inheritance to be obsolete.
