The blow is difficult for Xbox and PC players. As of October 1, the prices of subscriptions to the game pass, the Microsoft subscription game service, will suffer a significant increase and, above all, will add limitations to certain characteristics.
Described as “the greatest evolution” of the service to date, this price modification brings with it three reviewed and corrected formulas:
- The essentialwhich allows access to “more than 50 games”, cloud games (with a tail) and multiplayer mode on consoles, but also to advantages, for 8.99 euros/month (an increase of 2 euros)
- The premiumwhich gives access to “more than 200 games” on PC, Xbox and Cloud, but without the first day games developed internally. Instead, Microsoft promises “new games published by Xbox in the year after its launch.” The cloud game is unlimited, but “with shorter waiting times”, for 12.99 euros/month (or 1 euro more)
- The PC game passwhich retains its current advantages, in particular access to electronic arts games, but also to Microsoft games since its launch, for 14.99 euros/month (3 euros more)
- Lastwhich allows access to “more than 400 games”, including the old Electronic Arts and Ubisoft Games catalogs, but also of the Fortnite Club (November 2025), as well as Microsoft games since its launch, for 26.99 euros/month (no less than 9 euros)
It is this last formula that increases more and runs the risk of making the teeth shiver. Threw in 2017, the Game Pass subscription is “profitable,” said Microsoft, which at the same time announced more than 30 million subscribers. This is the second increase in just over a year for service.
To pass the pill, the game catalog grows significantly with some notable additions.
Final subscribers can benefit from Hogwarts Legacy: Hogwarts HeritageMany (old) Opus of the saga Assassin’s Creed AND CryWhile premium subscribers are entitled to the saga War, Quake, The Elder Scrolls either Hellblade II (also accessible to Ultimate).
