“Scratched paint”: after two years of silence, Manon Lanza denounces her invisibility after her accident in the GP Explorer 2

During GP Explorer 2, the content designer was forced to leave after a car bonnet with Maxime Biaggi. A spectator of the third edition of the race, Manon Lanza decided to speak out to denounce her invisibility and the silence of the organizers.

A “revenge on the circuit.” During the third edition of the GP Explorer, the Formula 4 race organized by Squeezie from October 3 to 5, Maxime Biaggi took revenge. Two years after hanging with the Videaste Manon Lanza on the Bugatti circuit, the YouTuber reached third place on the podium.

On social networks, the messages exploded. “Max, this race is for you, it’s your revenge.” But the expression is struggling to get past the content designer, who had ended up in the emergency room after the accident.

Two years after the event, she decides to come out of the silence through a long message on Instagram shared in the aftermath of GP Explorer 3. “I have long hesitated to write these words. For fear of being told that I was dramatic,” the surfer begins.

“I felt like a statistic”

“I do not write out of resentment or jealousy,” warns the influential sportsman, who does not stop congratulating his sister Kaatsup, second in the race, “a strong symbol in a male environment.” “I write to tell my truth and, I hope, open a reflection on what many people experience, mainly women, in these circles.”

If the young woman denounces especially in her publication, the invisibilization of the victim as a woman. “It felt like a statistic that we use to show that we are inclusive. What we use when it is good for the image and that we alleviate when it is disruptive,” she says. Because, when the cameraman really needed support as a female figure in this environment, she believes she was put on the button.

“The real violence was in silence from those who should have protected me”

During the previous edition, “I went to the emergency room and it was he (Maxime Biaggi, editor’s note) who complained and insulted me,” he recalls. A situation even more difficult to endure for the cameraman who at the end of the second edition of the race, Squeezie had praised the absence of injuries in his final speech. Everything, without mentioning the Manon Lanza situation.

“I was literally in the hospital when he said these words,” he deplores. “To the paint stripes, because this time, reality exceeded the storytelling,” he wrote dryly, supporting a photo of his injuries.

Worse yet, Manon Lanza is subjected to a wave of cyberbullying. She receives 60,000 hate tweets. Among them, sexist, violent and dehumanizing messages. “Woman at the wheel, dead on shift”, “She simply spoiled everything”, “public danger”, could be read in X, ex-Twitter.

Frequent cases of cyberbullying

But to protect Squeezie and GP’s scout image, Manon Lanza chooses to remain silent. She prefers to discuss her cyberbullying in private. “Finally, two stories two days later,” he breaks. “This is what a woman is worth when she no longer enters the context. When she is no longer part of the storytelling.” The YouTuber had ended up speaking on Twitch, two days after the events.

“I have not been honest, but today I am doing justice,” concludes the bitter cameraman, who nevertheless specifies not to seek to settle accounts. “I hope, through my words, to also restore a little to those who, despite themselves, have been silenced, a checkbox or a decorative piece of paper.”

Her message received no less than 63,000 likes on Instagram and more than 11,000 shares. However, comments were disabled.

Maxime Biaggi reacted in a live contraction, without having read the publication. “Guys, what Manon experienced is terrible. We would have been resentful for less than that,” the YouTuber recalls. “Maybe she thinks I didn’t support her enough. It was very difficult for everyone, very difficult to handle. Leave her alone.” At the moment, Bump, Squeezie’s influence agency behind GP’s scout and Squeezie have not spoken.

Manon Lanza is far from being an exception. Several content creators, such as Lea Elui or Kaatsup, also underwent a wave of cyberbullying during the third edition of GP Explorer 3.
