Some people are willing to do anything to improve their lives on social media. The test with “Summer without end”, “endless summer” in French. Launched in October, this application, detected by Techcrunch, allows you to generate fake vacation photos, generated by AI.
The principle is simple. Simply upload a selfie and you’re done. The AI then takes care of placing you in idyllic locations around the world. With a few clicks you’ll be on a gondola in Venice, hiking in Australia or at night in New York.
An expensive fake digital life
Ideal when you don’t have the time (or money) to go on vacation, but still want to impress your Instagram followers. A concept that divides social networks.
“Endless Summer is my favorite app of the year,” says one user. “I tried it during my vacation and my fake photos turned out better,” laments another. “It’s perfectly dystopian and fun,” laughs one last.
But this fake life on social media comes at a price. Because it is Nano Banana, Google’s image generator, which is responsible for creating these photographs and transporting the user to the other side of the world. Therefore, users can generate six photos… before a window asks them to make the payment. Expect $3.99 for 30 photos, $17.99 for 150, and $34.99 for 300 photos. And yes, even fake vacations are expensive.
And the app is already trying to diversify. An option now allows you to generate Halloween photos in which the user puts on different costumes.
If you didn’t have anything planned for October 31, AI will still be there to help you idealize your life on social media. Depressing.
