It is a video that made Tibo InShape, the most followed YouTuber in France, “lose so many contracts and money.” In July 2022, the influencer shared a photo of his weight room in which a French flag appears. At that time, netizens attacked him, calling him “racist” or “fascist.”
Faced with these accusations, the YouTuber, who has shared several of his political positions in the past, responded with a video in which he says “he does not understand why in France we are ashamed of the French flag.” “Look, in the United States, the American flag is everywhere. There is no shame in being proud to be French. There is no shame in showing off with the French flag,” continues Tibo InShape, for whom “we should be proud of our language, our education, our history, even if it is not perfect.”
“And to all those who don’t like France, no one is stopping you, go see how things are going elsewhere and I can assure you that you will quickly return to France,” he concludes.
“Since this video they have accused me of being a fascist”
This Thursday on BFMTV, the cameraman who publishes the book behind the light – explains that this video “made him lose many contracts and money”, although he refused to give the names of the partners he refers to. “Since this video I have been accused of being a fascist and far-right,” laments Tibo InShape on BFMTV.
“When I highlight the French flag, it is not to serve the interests of the far right,” he continues, “it is to serve the interests of the French, to highlight the French and the pride of belonging to this country.”
A video with Gabriel Attal
In June 2024, the first French YouTuber declared to the media Brut that he was “right-wing.” “I’m already a business administrator, so obviously I, in the voting booth, think about my own interest and that of my loved ones, so I can actually consider myself more right-wing, yes (…) but human above all!” Tibo Inshape justified. Already then he dismissed accusations of racism.
He then regretted that “the extreme right has recovered the French flag.” Tibo InShape is one of the influencers who has worked with politicians, such as EnjoyPhoenix or McFly and Carlito.
In 2018, he visited the National School of Penitentiary Administration with Nicole Belloubet, then Minister of Justice. In July 2019, he published a video about Universal National Service, in which he questioned Gabriel Attal, then Secretary of State to the Minister of National Education and Youth. Communication operations paid up to 30,000 euros. In July 2024, Tibo InShape announced that he had voted for an Ensemble candidate in the early legislative elections.
