New on the Twitter algorithm side. The latter now offers users of the social network many more tweets recommended by people they don’t follow, Engadget reported on Thursday, December 1.
A change already effective
At this time, it is not known how many additional recommendations users of the platform can expect to see in their newsfeed. The same goes for where they will appear in the app. However, in its tweet, the company references a September blog post that states that “recommendations may appear in your News Feed, in some places in the ‘Explore’ tab, and in other places on Twitter.”
According to Endgadet, some users are already reporting noticeable changes to their News Feed with the appearance of new topic suggestions and numerous tweets from random accounts.
Although this novelty may seem sudden, it is not the first time that the company has experimented with the addition of recommended content. Twitter previously introduced this change to various parts of its service, but has sometimes changed how often these suggestions appear.
