To do this, Elon Musk simply intends to delete the accounts of people who have defected from the social network. This metric is for those who haven’t posted or logged in in the last few years. And indeed, their usernames will be available to active users of the platform.

This operation will surely generate greater participation from users who have recovered their name or pseudonym, honey. However, a change in username may result in the loss of your certification. The username is different from the one displayed on your profile. This is your account name, preceded by an “@”.

So it could be a ploy by the billionaire to highlight his paid certification. Against a monthly subscription (from 8 to 11 dollars for iPhone users), it will be possible to obtain the famous blue badge. It is also with this function that Elon Musk hopes to fill Twitter’s coffers and make the company profitable.
