Today it is difficult for farmers to meet the growing demand for food by using fewer plant protection products, adapting to the loss of labor and the vagaries of the weather.
However, solutions are possible, in particular thanks to technology and robotics. Agreenculture, for example, designs and develops autonomous solutions for the agricultural world. Christophe Aubé, CEO and co-founder of Agreenculture was the guest of Tech&Co to explain how their technologies work.
“Redo what the farmer did 60 years ago”
The objective of Agreenculture is to support farmers so that, above all, they can get down to work. “If we really want to abandon plant protection products, we would have to spend 10 to 12 times more time in the soil, it is not possible for farmers,” explains Christophe Aubé.
The French company thus offers operators autonomous robots or tractors equipped with a differential GPS that will allow extreme precision, estimated at 2 millimeters.
The farmer is then equipped with a smartphone app, as well as a computer version, which allows him to configure and monitor the tasks performed by the different machines. However, before you can take advantage of these innovations, you must perform an accurate analysis of the terrain.
“No two plots in France are identical. There is always an adaptation necessary for each facility to have a precise mapping of the terrain,” says Christophe Aubé.
