iPhone, iPad, MacBook: Replacing the battery of an Apple product will cost more

Apple has announced that the price of repairing batteries for iPhone, iPad and MacBook will increase from March 1, 2023.

The new year often rhymes with rising prices. The iPhone is no exception to the rule, as replacing the battery of the Apple-signed smartphone will soon be more expensive, the Apple brand announced on its website on Monday, January 2. As of March 1, 2023, out of warranty, the repair of this component will be more than 25 euros for all smartphones prior to the iPhone 14.

Result: to replace a battery iPhone X, 11 12 or 13, it will now cost 99 euros, an increase of 32%, and 79 euros for the iPhone SE, 6,7 or 8 with an estimated increase of 43%. The current prices to replace a defective battery of iPhone X, 11, 12 or 13 (75 euros) and iPhone SE, 6,7 or 8 (55 euros), will be valid until the end of February.

iPad and MacBook are no exception to the increase

Unfortunately, this increase also affects the iPad and the Macbook. The bill will also be higher, 40 euros this time, for the following iPad models: iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and previous models), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation and previous models), iPad Pro 10 .5-inch, 9.7-inch iPad Pro, iPad mini (6th generation and earlier), and iPad Air (5th generation and earlier). With a battery replacement cost currently estimated at €109, it will cost €149 from March 1st.

Macs are not spared. The battery change will increase by 36 euros for all MacBook Air models and 60 euros for MacBooks and MacBook Pros. In addition, now it will be 185 euros for the first mentioned models and 289 euros for computers dedicated to professionals.

On the other hand, people who have signed an AppleCare+ contract will not be affected by this increase because this service is already included. This is not the first time that Apple has raised the price of its services. The company had thus increased the price list applied to its applications available on the app store. for all euro area countries in September 2022.
