After the rise of the “Just Chatting” category on Twitch, will we see a new trend emerge with “Just Cooking”? At least that’s what Samsung’s new product suggests. Ahead of the Consumer Electronic Show (CES) in Las Vegas, the company is unveiling an oven equipped with a camera.
The main use of this tool is to detect the type of food introduced into the device. The Bespoke AI Oven model can thus offer its owner a temperature and cooking time adapted to the dishes he wishes to prepare, specifies The Verge. As the name suggests, these abilities are provided through artificial intelligence.
Sharing the inside view of the oven
The Samsung oven can recognize a total of 80 dishes and ingredients. European cooks are privileged since the models of the appliance sold in Europe will be able to distinguish 106 different ingredients. Another specificity specific to European consumers, an overcooking detection system is capable of alerting the user.
But the use of the camera does not stop there. Samsung seems to be targeting content creators squarely. It is possible to film and even broadcast live the inside view of the oven. Thus, videographers or simple food lovers will be able to make the mouths of their community water on social networks.
Samsung plans to ship the Bespoke AI Oven in the third quarter of 2023, but no pricing has been disclosed at this time.
