While Elon Musk has laid off more than half of its employees since its acquisition, Twitter is suffering somewhat unexpected consequences, including a lack of toilet paper and repeated computer problems.
Repeated requests from employees about internal messaging went unanswered. It concerns the entire operation of Twitter and, first of all, the computer system. And for good reason, almost every employee in the IT department was fired or quit during the two months, leading to a huge shortage of IT teams. From lost chargers to broken computers and crashed internal systems.
One of Twitter’s three main data servers in the United States even shut down abruptly last week to save money. And the savings are such that Twitter has stopped paying the rent for one of its offices in San Francisco.
toilet paper not found
In recent weeks, Elon Musk has cut expenses so much that the company can no longer provide the minimum service for the well-being of its employees. Employees have denounced that they cannot find toilet paper in the Twitter offices and that bad odors prevent them from working. The maintenance staff have been laid off. Free food and snacks are also limited.
However, employee performance reviews continue to be conducted and high productivity is still expected even as working conditions deteriorate.
Without a response from management, employees don’t even know which manager to contact with their requests.
