Pierce Bosman fans will be able to resume service on January 27. Announced this fall, the new version of the cult game from the 1990s Golden Eye 007 therefore it will be released on Xbox and Nintendo Switch with the same graphics of Nintendo 64 (but smoother for the Xbox version which will offer a 4K version) and anyway some new devices so as not to disappoint the nostalgic.
Therefore, the controls have been adapted to the new controllers, in particular, the two analog sticks. For its part, the image will now be displayed in 16:9 and no longer in 4:3, as our old CRT televisions offered.
Also, the multiplayer version will be exclusive to Switch as Nintendo has kept control of the original game. For Xbox gamers, you’ll have to make do with screen sharing. On the solo side, it will obviously be necessary to direct Pierce Bosman’s version of James Bond, who will have to stop the GoldenEye satellite from causing chaos, as in the 1995 film of the same name.
The game will be available to Xbox Game Pass subscribers and as part of the Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack Nintendo 64 Classic Games bundle.
