On Tinder, it was possible to be visible to all users or to remain hidden. But now, a third option is available to people looking for a partner. The application revealed new configuration possibilities on the occasion of Safer Internet Day, the day dedicated to Internet security.
Block profiles or contacts
With this option, a profile can become invisible to some users. Only people who like the account in question will be able to find it among your suggestions. This option is only available to subscribers of Tinder Plus, the paid dating app.
Another new feature, accessible to everyone, is blocking a profile. Before having a “match” (a reciprocal attraction), “block profile” allows you not to see a user again in the future. This account will be excluded from future suggestions. For Tinder, this is a way to avoid running into a former spouse or professional relationship again.
Another similar option, “Block Contact”, allows users to choose which contacts they want to meet in the app or not. But above all to prevent some of your contacts from finding your Tinder profile.
Fight against harmful messages
Finally, the app addresses inappropriate messages. On the one hand, the detection of harmful exchanges has been revised. Thus, the application interrogates people who receive questionable messages to find out if they have felt offended.
This device also works proactively. When writing potentially harmful text, the shipment will be withheld. Tinder will say “Are you sure?” to the author who will have to confirm his statements. This notification should alert you and prevent too harsh a submission.
On the other hand, Tinder makes it easy to report these harmful messages. A long press is now enough to trigger the postponement of an offensive trade.
