If you have an important message to convey to all your contacts, soon you will be able to do it in person (or almost) on WhatsApp. In fact, the Meta group’s instant messaging service will let you leave 30-second voicemails in “status,” as a blog post published by the company indicates.
This “status” (symbolized by a green circle around your profile picture) can be created in the dedicated tab, located at the bottom left when opening the WhatsApp application. It allows users, just like an Instagram story, to broadcast messages with a 24-hour lifespan. Currently it is possible to publish texts, photos, videos or gifs.
popular voice messages
For several years now, the fashion for voice messages has invaded the different social networks and messaging services. According to WhatsApp, 7 billion voice messages are exchanged around the world every day.
The company will thus allow users to satisfy their desire to deliver messages aloud. WhatsApp also announced other new features for its stories tool. Internet users will be able to choose the audience according to their status: their entire contact list or specific people.
In the same way as with messages in a classic conversation, it will also be possible to respond to statuses with “reactions”. Swiping up and pressing will offer eight emojis to react to the content of your contacts. Users will also be able to respond with text, stickers or… voice messages.
