With the pandemic, many components were depleted and production of the PS5 was discontinued. Two years later, even if the shortage is over, PS5 stocks are still a bit tight in early 2023.

On Amazon, the purchase button displayed on the PS5 Standard Edition has been replaced with “request an invite.” It takes a few seconds and allows you to put the odds in your favor to get a PS5. Since its release, the price of the PS5 Standard Edition has increased. It was normally sold for 499.99 euros last August and due to the economic context, Sony announced an increase of 50 euros, for a final price of 549.99 euros. The big difference between the PS5 Standard Edition and the PS5 Digital Edition, aside from the price, is that with the Standard Edition, you can play physical games through the Blu-Ray player. In the digital edition, the games can only be purchased through the PlayStation Store.
