Not being able to answer the phone, in the middle of a meeting or on transportation, happens to all of us. But Samsung wants to solve this little daily problem by allowing its users to still reply to their caller using the “text call” feature.
Currently only available in Korean and English, this feature allows you to click the “Bixby Text Call” button during an incoming call, allowing the user to type what they want to reply on the keyboard. Once the message is entered, an artificial intelligence will be in charge of transmitting the message, in voice, to the person on the other end of the line.
Voice and tone copy
And to make this tool even better, Samsung has announced in a blog post that it will be developing an option to save predefined phrases. The goal is to create a copy of the user’s voice and tone to reinforce the impression that they are the one responding.
Samsung’s goal is to make Bixby, its voice assistant equivalent to Siri, a pioneer in innovation. “When Samsung launched Bixby, it was part of a vision to create a human/machine interface that makes life easier and advances alongside our innovations in the Galaxy line,” said YoungJip Kim, product manager of AI projects at Samsung. .
This feature is currently only available for Korean users and on the latest range of Samsung smartphones (S23, S23+ and S23 Ultra).
