Chromebooks belong to the large family of laptops. But, unlike the latter, they do not use Windows or macOS, but a lighter operating system: Chrome OS. Its interface, which evokes that of Android smartphones, has the role of simplifying the user experience as much as possible, offering an extremely intuitive and minimalist desktop where only native applications or those downloaded to the Chromebook from the Google Play Store are displayed.
Chrome OS thus allows these devices, which are not very powerful, to be ultimately very fast and benefit from interesting autonomy. Reliable, very compact, so easily transportable, they are also much cheaper (between 250 euros and 1000 euros) than a traditional laptop.
Chromebooks are mainly dedicated to office tasks and Internet browsing. They are also good entertainment tools (music and video streaming), can be useful for simple navigation, and some of the more advanced ones even allow you to play quite advanced 3D video games. Given these features, they are an excellent value for money capable of appealing to a wide audience, from students to people who simply want to obtain a piece of equipment that is easy to access and efficient.
