“I want to make the profession healthier”: Magali Berdah launches her own federation of influencers

With Tech & Co, the influencer boss conjures up a personal fight as her image is tarnished by legal cases.

The head of the influencer agency Shauna Events says that around 80 people are already interested. This Federation will be in charge of facilitating dialogue with the authorities and training influencers. “This Federation has nothing to do with Shauna Events (her agency, editor’s note), we are registered under the status of Law 1901 Association”, she wishes to clarify.

Magali Berdah points out in particular the rapid changes in the influencer profession. Influencers “who often do not know the law or the consumer code and only follow a training program from the ARPP (Regulatory Authority for Professional Advertising) that only lasts two or three hours. They are not sufficiently accompanied ”, she laments.

To empower them for the long term, your federation will establish mandatory continuing education for members to raise their awareness of the practices of their profession and support them in mastering the regulations. In addition, an “a priori free” application is currently being developed. A newsletter and alerts will be sent to members to inform them of the latest regulations in force. Legal assistance will also be offered so that they can enforce their rights.

It’s also a slight to the Union of Influencing Professions and Content Creators (UMICC), created in January by other agencies that wanted to distance themselves from the controversy over Shauna Events. However, Magali Berdah wants to clarify: “the more we are to advance the cause of influencers, the more effective it will be.”

The launch of this Federation comes at a time when currently under investigation for deceptive marketing practices after a war between him and rapper Booba. On social media, Booba frequently accuses Magali Berdah and her influencers of scamming his subscribers.

Received on the set of BFMTV on January 20, the director of Shauna Events said she was the victim of an 8-month cyberbullying campaign and had received several death threats. “It’s murder,” she complains to herself.

She also asks for a reaction from social media platforms. versus excesses of certain influencers. And the creation of this Federation is timely since the National Assembly will examine the bill on the regulation of influencers at the end of March.

“My voice was heard, they consulted me in December as part of the drafting of the law, because I have interesting things to say on this subject,” he says.
