Free launches a streaming service for movies and series at no extra cost, but with advertising

From this Tuesday, Freebox subscribers can benefit from OQEE Ciné. This new AVOD (Video on Demand with Ads) service offers content to customers for Free without increasing your bill.

More than 300 movies and series are now available to all Freebox subscribers. The telecommunications operator announced on Tuesday, February 7, the launch of OQEE Ciné, its video-on-demand service, offered to its customers at no additional cost. On the other hand, Free has opted for an AVOD model, that is, an advertising-financed device.

This new service – which takes charge of the operation of Netflix’s ad-supported Essential offer – is available on TVs, but also on tablets and smartphones via the OQEE by Free app. Before it was dedicated to live TV programs and repetitions, but now it gives access to the catalog offered by the operator. The company promises unlimited viewing of its ad-supported service within the limits of program availability.

The first two letters of the acronym OQEE stand for “Where You Want, When You Want”. The two Es are simply taken from the name of the Free operator.

Among the content available through OQEE Ciné are family blockbusters such as Unlimited, xXx, Godzilla EITHER hell boyas well as movie staples, such as encounter of the third kind, dracula EITHER the last of the mohicans. On the series side, recent American creations start up EITHER Taken are accessible, just like the BBC miniseries A very English scandal.

In addition, there are comedies or youth programs, as well as a selection of French films: Halal State Police EITHER gorillas.
