On this Women’s Rights Day, if you search for Emmanuel Macron’s profile on LinkedIn, you’ll come across Chloé Hermary, a technology entrepreneur. On the occasion of March 8, the male profiles are replaced by that of women in the sector.
With the hashtag #Amaplace, the Sista Collective, which supports women entrepreneurs, and UN Women France, accompanied by BETC, launch an initiative for a day to highlight female profiles. The reason? A woman who works in technology has five times less visibility than a man.
Thus, 22 women take the place of their male counterparts. Yosra Jarraya, co-founder of Astran appears in the profile of Jean-Noël Barrot, Minister Delegate in charge of the digital transition. Fatoumata Ly, co-founder of Ninti, replaces Eloïc Peyrache, director of HEC Paris. Claire Bretton, the founder of Underdog, appears in the profile of Frédéric Mazzella, CEO of Blablacar or Maud Vinet, the founder of Siquance, replaces Gilles Babinet, co-chairman of the National Digital Council.
Technology particularly concerned
The President of the Republic has also lent himself to the game and is replaced by Chloé Hermary, founder of the digital school Ada Tech School. In a publication, the businesswoman specifies that “women still earn an average of 15% less than men in the same positions and with the same skills (…) In the CAC 40 and the Next 40 only 4 companies are run by women.”
The technology sector is especially concerned, “90% of the brains that think that our applications, infrastructures and tools of tomorrow are men,” he also points out.
