It’s a stance that has Magali Berdah, a famous influencer agent, reacting strongly after Bruno Le Maire paid tribute to the battle led by rapper Booba against some of his abuse.
On March 13, before the microphone of Franceinfo, the Minister of Economy returned to Booba’s recurring accusations against Magali Berdah and the influencers she represents, without mentioning the accusations of cyberbullying weighing on Booba for his multiple tweets directed at Magali. Berdah.
“I had been enjoying a period of truce for ten days, without invective on the networks, which seemed a way of returning to normality. A moment of respite that the minister ended yesterday morning on Franceinfo, with some statements that revived the cyberbullying that she has suffered for more than 10 months ”, laments Magali Berdah, to Tech & Co.
Tens of thousands of hate messages
During the year 2022, Booba has multiplied the invective directed at Magali Berdah on Twitter, where he is followed by some 6 million Internet users, after having been banned from Instagram in particular. Between May and July 2022, he had received nearly 70,000 hate messages, with numerous death threats, sometimes of an anti-Semitic nature, the Express recalled in September 2022.
“I regret that a Minister of the Republic, representing the government and its struggles, namely the fight against cyberbullying, violence against women, anti-Semitism, openly takes, on the air of a morning public service, the party of a a man who denigrates these same causes”, adds Magali Berdah, who assures that her company “has never been penalized by the courts for the placement of fraudulent products or any other illegal activity”.
With Tech&Co, Bruno Le Maire’s cabinet claims to “firmly condemn violence, whatever it is, wherever it comes from.”
In early March, Magali Berdah announced the launch of her own federation of influencers, after being fired from the Union of Influencers and Content Creators (UMICC), created by other agencies.
On March 20, the Ministry of Economy will present its work on the regulation of the influencer profession, while a bill on the subject is due to be debated in the National Assembly shortly.
