At Apple, inflation does not only affect the iPhone, whose latest generation is already available from 1,019 euros. On its site, the brand has published a press release for application developers to announce the arrival of a new price list. In the App Store, but also for in-app purchases, developers must apply a price scale in increments, ranging from €0.99 to €999. Rates that will change on October 5.
Automatic renewals not affected
As the document posted by Apple shows, the second installment -being the first free- is now 1.19 euros, an increase of 20 cents (and 20%) compared to the current rate of 0.99 euros. The billing can also reach 1199.99 euros.
So if the price of entry for apps or in-app purchases increases in the coming weeks, the price of more expensive services may not change, as long as the developers choose to lower a portion in the new scale. However, this price increase does not apply to subscriptions that are associated with automatic renewal.
As for the price of the new iPhone, but also of other products sold by Apple, these price increases in euros are consecutive to the fall of the European currency against the dollar. During a fall of the dollar against the euro, Apple on the contrary had lowered the prices of its network, at the beginning of August 2021.
