It is a social network also recovered by Donald Trump. After his Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts were restored a few weeks ago, the former US president was able to find his YouTube channel, which has more than 2.6 million subscribers.
A “risk of violence” considered low
The Republican, the 2024 presidential candidate, had been excluded from the social network in January 2021, when he was still in power, for having encouraged his followers during the attack on the Capitol in Washington.
To justify its decision, YouTube said on Friday that it had assessed “the risk of violence”, taking into account the importance, for voters, of listening “equally to the main national candidates”.
Although he has been reauthorized to post to his social media, Donald Trump has yet to post a message to his accounts, communicating primarily through his own platform, Truth Social.
