Amazon begins marking ‘highly returned’ products

In the United States, this indication is implemented to make life easier for customers and put more pressure on sellers.

Here’s a report that may make some sellers on Amazon scream. The platform has started reporting “frequently returned” products on its US site. For the moment, the products in question can be counted on the fingers of one hand (a record player and two dresses have been highlighted by The Information site), but this new indication could well be generalized.

In fact, the large number of references offered by Amazon can bring unpleasant surprises, while the reality of positive comments is always subject to caution. Therefore, this report will allow the customer to think twice before ordering the product. A way to warn you and above all to put pressure on sellers, who will have every chance of seeing orders melt in this way.

Returns on Amazon are currently possible within 30 days, free of charge, but are not only an additional and therefore economical logistical headache for the company, but also an additional carbon footprint.

Note that you need an Amazon account (not necessarily a Prime subscriber) to see the message appear, which is currently only for the United States. Amazon has not yet specified if it intends to extend its device to other countries.
