“A mistake”: influencer Dylan Thiry makes his mea culpa after promoting a pseudocancer treatment

The former reality TV contestant is regularly singled out for his controversial videos and questionable product placements. In November he had promoted a treatment that “cures cancer cells (sic)”.

The noose is tightening around influencers. At the end of March, the National Assembly approved in first reading a bill to better regulate the sector, undermined by scams and dubious promotions.

A video by influencer Dylan Thiry serves as a model for the genre. Last November, this former reality TV candidate praised “insane”, that is, “something that cures cancer cells (sic)”.

According to him, the product in question is not sold in France or in Europe “because it is prohibited” in our regions. “They don’t want it, they are much more interested in you going to the hospital and calling a blind.” A promo for a pseudo-treatment that caused a lot of reaction at the time.

Last weekend, Dylan Thiry returned to this controversy in an interview he gave to YouTuber Sam Zirah. First by denying having placed products:

“For me, as long as there’s no link to the internet, as long as there’s no promo code and I haven’t been paid, it’s not product placement,” cuts the influencer before finally acknowledging that it was a mistake.

“I was naive”

“When they introduced me to the product, they are all over the world, they are in Switzerland, they are everywhere, I couldn’t believe it. And me, I just took my story and explained it,” she continues.

This is not Dylan Thiry’s first controversy. In addition to some dubious product placement videos, he has also been criticized for his “humanitarian travel” videos. The last one, carried out during the earthquake in Turkey, has been highly criticized.

Last January, Liberation revealed that five people had filed a complaint against this Luxembourger for “breach of trust” in the context of online pots intended to finance his humanitarian trips.
