Squeezie took to Twitter to defend one of the public participants in his Banished Court, who has been cyberbullied on the social network for a few days.
The Banished Court is an adaptation of a concept used by Squeezie on YouTube: that of confronting netizens who have been banned from a Twitch chat for inappropriate behavior or comments.
In addition to Squeezie and his two fellow streamers Gotaga and Kameto, select members of the public may chime in to provide feedback on the “trial.” This is the case of this participant, Audrey, who intervened several times during the session. It all starts with a user’s tweet, who challenges the social network, calling the young woman “despicable”:
The tweet has been viewed more than 7 million times and has more than 10,000 likes. Among the approximately 750 responses to the tweet, there is a litany of insults and criticism of the young woman, not only directed at her interventions, considered “too first degree”, but also at her physique.
“The Kooks of This Network”
Squeezie, the most followed videographer in France, quickly intervened to denounce the behavior of Internet users.
Despite the humorous aspect of the video, the goal was also to confront users with an audience that goes beyond the context of a simple online discussion. Squeezie has also taken advantage of this on several occasions to educate its subscribers, noting in particular that “words have an impact”, a fact that “a lot of people forget on the internet”.
