In the face of Booba’s attacks, Magali Berdah files a complaint against Twitter

The influencer agent attacks the platform for complicity in aggravated moral harassment. In particular, it requires the permanent deletion of Booba’s account.

“A slaughter.” This is how Magali Berdah, an influencer agent, describes the behavior of Booba (Elie Yaffa of her real name), after the multiple personal attacks published on Twitter for a year. As Tech&Co has learned, confirming information from France Info, the head of the company Shauna Events has filed a complaint against Twitter for complicity in aggravated moral harassment.

Hundreds of posts on Twitter

Regularly accusing Magali Berdah of scams linked to the dubious practices of certain influencers, Booba regularly spreads messages directed at her openly. In the complaint, which Tech&Co was able to see, hundreds of publications are mentioned. Including the broadcast of Magali Berdah’s daughter’s school speech on April 17.

Banned on Instagram, Booba concentrates his posts directed at Magali Berdah on his Twitter account, where the rapper is followed by six million subscribers. In the complaint, Magali Berdah’s lawyers, Rachel-Flore Pardo and Antonin Gravelin-Rodriguez, recall alerting the platform numerous times, first to remove the disputed content and then to permanently delete Booba’s account.

Between the spring of 2022 and the year 2023, Booba mentioned in particular the existence of an alleged sex tape of Magali Berdah, then accused the latter of being linked to Mossad, the Israeli intelligence services. With the key to some 70,000 insulting messages received by the person affected during the summer of 2022, he recalls the complaint.

“I’m going to crush it”

For Magali Berdah’s lawyers, Twitter, like any platform, is however obliged to put an end to an infringement as soon as it becomes aware of it. Despite many alerts, Twitter has so far chosen not to remove Booba’s account.

“Consequently, the Twitter companies knowingly make available to Mr. Yaffa the digital tool that allows him to commit the crime of aggravated harassment to the detriment of Mrs. Berdah. From then on, the Twitter companies were complicit in these events,” Magali Berdah’s lawyers specify in the complaint.

In the same document, they recall that the National Pole for the Fight against Online Hate (PNLH) of the Paris Prosecutor’s Office opened an investigation on June 1, 2022. An investigation that subsequently led to several police arrests. On March 23, 2023, Twitter was also condemned by the Court of Cassation for its lack of transparency in its tools to moderate hate posts.
