London, Paris, Los Angeles, New York or even Tokyo. Google Maps Immersive View feature is now available in several major cities around the world. This navigation option offers a 3D representation of certain emblematic places (the Eiffel Tower in Paris, the Golden Gate in San Francisco, the Empire State Building in New York, etc.) created using artificial intelligence.
The latter produces them by combining aerial shots and Street View images collected by Google over the years. Immersive View thus allows users to be able to observe buildings in 360 degrees, to be able to look inside some of them and to display contextual information about them.
A button dedicated to the time or the weather also allows you to observe them at different times of the day. An update to the Google Maps app (Android, iOS) is required to access this feature.
How to use immersive view mode
- Enter the name of an iconic place in the search bar
- Tap the “Immersive View” tab to see the location
- Tap on “Time & Weather” to see the location at different times of the day
