Do content creators no longer trust the aesthetic of Wes Anderson? Following the rise of the “Wes Anderson Trend”, Internet users are now turning to artificial intelligence to reinvent the most famous franchises in the image of the director’s films.
The Curious Refuge YouTube account posted a video on April 30 of about a minute stamped “Wes Anderson’s Star Wars“. This is a trailer – fictitious – of what could have been a movie in the Star Wars saga directed by the American filmmaker. Here is the very first Star Wars from 1977 that is redesigned.

The emblematic characters of the saga are (falsely) interpreted by Anderson’s favorite actors: Scarlett Johansson as Princess Leia, Owen Wilson as Darth Vader or Bill Murray as Obi-Wan Kenobi. The Death Star looks like a doll’s house, and the TIE fighters, the iconic starships of the Empire, have been repainted in pastel colors.
Curious Refuge does not specify the method used to make this video with artificial intelligence. With already 600,000 views on the screen, there is no doubt that a full movie would have convinced netizens so much. “I would have preferred to see that than any Star Wars produced by Disney…”, laments one of them.
