Match Group, the parent company of the dating app Tinder, announced on Tuesday that it would cease all its operations in Russia, more than a year after the start of Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
According to a publication by the group, the latter will cease its activities in the place on June 30, justifying this decision by “our desire to defend human rights.”

Match Group’s departure from Russia also comes as the local government tightens legislation to regulate the technology sector amid mounting political repression.
