Tech&co plunges into the metaverse for an exceptional show

The Tech&Co program offers this Tuesday, May 2, a special program dedicated to the metaverse, produced directly in a virtual universe, in order to show the specific cases of use of this technology.

“We often talk about metaverses, but it’s still very abstract for the general public.” It is from this observation of Louis Cacciuttolo, the founder of VRrOOm, that the Tech&Co show decided to meet this 3D universe where people are represented in the form of avatars that can interact with each other. .

Beyond dedicating a special program to the subject this Tuesday, May 2, the show will take place inside the metaverse with a set modeled in virtual reality. Like the presenter, François Sorel, or the guests, including the musician Jean-Michel Jarre.

“Technology dictates styles”

Very interested in this technology, the artist has been interested in it since the early 2000s. In 2018, he “got his hands dirty” with a first digital concert where a visual staging reacted to sound music. All with the aim of “transmitting emotions on a visual level”, he explains.

The show focuses on entertainment and culture with the presence of Joséphine Bories, manager of innovation and XR at the Montreux Comedy Festival, and choreographer Gilles Jobin.

According to him, it was the invention of the violin that allowed Vivaldi to express himself, the invention of the camera that led to the emergence of outstanding conductors. “Today, the metaverse is a budding mode of expression that will inevitably generate the musical or visual styles of the future”, predicts the artist.

Production of events and shows.

But the metaverse is also a matter of sovereignty. “We helped invent the Internet 30 years ago and let it escape into the ocean. Let’s not make the same mistake with the metaverse again,” warns Jean-Michel Jarre. “We absolutely have to participate in this sovereignty.”

The transposition of the Tech&Co program within the metaverse was made possible by VRrOOm. This company specializes in the production of events and shows in the metaverse. It seeks to democratize technology by offering a monetizable platform that allows anyone to create their own “miniverse” in a few clicks.

Visually, the virtual world is still pretty basic, far from looking anything like reality. “The interest of the metaverse is not necessarily to copy reality”, also tempers Jean-Michel Jarre, who sees above all the undeniable practical interest.
