It was one of the wishes revealed by Google, as well as by Apple and Microsoft, a few months ago: to put an end to forgotten or stolen passwords. The three technological giants had thus announced in May 2022 an agreement for the creation of a system to simplify the management of this series of codes of all kinds: the “pass key”.
Easy device unlock.
This technology therefore makes it possible to stop using classic passwords and use only biometric data (fingerprint or facial recognition) and other classic techniques, such as numerical codes, which allow the phone to be unlocked. Google has thus announced the deployment of this technology for the management of its users’ accounts.
Thus, once the access key is integrated into the system, the password will no longer be requested. At each connection or significant modification attempt, the user will simply have to do the same manipulation as when unlocking his device.
For people who are reluctant to this type of technology, it will still be possible to use classic passwords and double authentication validation.
