There will be a GP Explorer 2. The doubt was very low, but the formalization by Squeezie was slow in coming. Many believed that the announcement would have been made on April 13, but this date was reserved for the creation of the structure of the professional video game: “Gentle Mates”. This Wednesday, the most followed French cameraman on YouTube lifted the veil on his new car race.
Like last year, the concept remains the same. It is about placing web celebrities in Formula 4 cars during a race at the Bugatti circuit in Le Mans. The event will take place on September 9.
Squeezie announced during his weekly Twitch stream that viewers will be able to go there to follow the race. But this year it is not about 40,000 seats, but 60,000, which will be on sale for less than 50 euros, according to Squeezie.
24 celebrities on the catwalk
The opening of the box office will take place on May 24. It is also on this date that the youtuber will show the decorations of the vehicles for the first time, as well as the name of the teams and the sponsors that accompany them.
Last year the first GP Explorer saw 22 drivers compete. But this year, an additional team will be in attendance, bringing the number of celebrities entered in the race to 24.
Half of them have already participated in the first edition of the GP Explorer. The cameraman highlighted the spirit of competition and revenge that reigns in real car racing championships to justify this choice.
Thus, Squeezie and Gotaga, Kaatsup and LeBouseuh, Etienne Mustache and Amixem, Delpielo and Manon Lanza as well as Sylvain Levy and Pierre Chabrier will reform their teams from the last race. Seb La Frite will also return, but without Sofyan. This time a new pilot will accompany him: Maghla.
Other newcomers include duos Djilsi and Theodort, Ana on Air and Maxime Biaggi, Baghera Jones and Horty Underscore, Mister V and Theo Juice. Billy will also be present accompanied by a mystery pilot, who he himself will reveal during a video.
Finally, one last team will remain secret until mid-July. This duo will be part of the surprises that the youtuber has prepared. They promise to be numerous as suggested by Squeezie during her announcement.
F1 drivers present?
In his broadcast, the cameraman mentioned in particular the possibility that concerts could be organized in it with the event. The start of the race was extended until 7:00 p.m. in order to deliver the trophies at sunset, suggesting a possible fireworks display.
Above all, the date of September 9 was not chosen at random, Squeezie said. This weekend no official car competition takes him. “There will be nothing else to see,” the YouTuber promised before adding that he would allow “little surprises for the guests.”
This declaration opens the door to the presence of official pilots during the day, which will be broadcast in its entirety on Squeezie’s Twitch channel. This recalls the statement of Esteban Ocon, F1 driver for the Alpine team. He too was greeted, as was his partner Pierre Gasly, among the stream viewers by Squeezie.
“If it is not during a GP… Small demonstration with a Formula 1, everything”, Esteban Ocon had dropped during a broadcast on the Gotaga channel on April 17.
The first GP Explorer was held on October 8, 2022. This date coincided with the Suzuka Grand Prix weekend in Japan. This absence did not prevent the event from attending more than a million people.
