‘I’m angry’: Xbox boss returns to poor reception of Redfall game

The latest exclusive video game for Microsoft consoles has not excited the players. A disappointment that also hits Phil Spencer, the head of Xbox.

“There is nothing more difficult for me than letting the Xbox community down.” Like all players, Phil Spencer could only see the damage. The Xbox boss returned to criticism that red autumnMicrosoft’s latest game has suffered.

Available on Game Pass, this shooting game, which integrates vampires to hunt, is developed by the Arkane Austin studio, owned by the computer giant. Many tests of the title have pointed to a lack of finishing, lagging performance and an expendable scenario.

On Metacritic, the site that groups the ratings assigned to games, the score is only 62 (out of 100). The players, for their part, are much less tender. The public rating only reaches 2.6 (out of 10).

A “bump on the chin”

The Xbox boss returned to this mixed reception during the specialized program Kinda Funny Xcast. He claimed to be “disappointed”, as was the Xbox community, but also “mad at himself”.

In the player viewer, promises broken by the game often come back. Complaints you can only admit. “I remember the 60fps announcement and the fact that we didn’t deliver the game at 60fps, which was our chin shot, deservedly so,” says Phil Spencer.

In a few weeks, Microsoft will be able to catch up with the release of Starfield scheduled for September 6. The first-person space exploration game will be highlighted on June 11 with a dedicated event. The opportunity to show even more about the game that “still has a lot to show”, according to its developers.
