After Microsoft and Google, it’s Amazon’s turn to venture into the competitive world of artificial intelligence. According to The Information, the American company is building an internal team in charge of shaping artificial intelligence tools capable of producing photos and videos.
Amazon wants merchants to be able to use this content to create advertising campaigns on Amazon. An initiative confirmed by a spokesperson for the group and which could help diversify its advertising activity. For good reason, Andy Jassy, Amazon’s CEO, says he sees it as a new way to place ads on all of Amazon’s activities.
According to him, the development of this technology offers opportunities in many areas, such as the sale of sports ads on his video streaming service, as well as during Thursday night football broadcasts on Prime Video.
Meta and Google on the prowl
The company is also looking to leverage more audio ads on Amazon Music and is even considering running digital ads on displays inside Amazon Fresh grocery stores. Amazon is also considering using artificial intelligence tools to find new ways to write product descriptions.
The new direction comes as platforms like Meta and Google, Amazon’s big advertising rivals, are already working on similar projects, The Information reports.
