“Scarcity makes the price of things”, says the proverb, which applies here perfectly to the second edition of the GP Explorer, a race between web stars, which will take place at Le Mans on September 9. Put up for sale this May 24, the 60,000 seats planned for the Formula 4 race of the youtuber Squeezie were all left in just 30 minutes.
“Sorry to all of you who couldn’t get a spot. We added 20,000 compared to last year but we couldn’t do more or it would become unmanageable on the site,” Squeezie apologized on Twitter, confirming no other spots will be placed. . for sale.
Seats at almost 600 euros
A godsend for scalpers, who only waited a few minutes to put their seats up for sale again. And as often happens, the law of supply and demand prevailed at the initial (and only) price of 48 euros offered by the official GP Explorer box office.
On the Le Bon Coin platform, around fifteen announcements have been published in the last few hours. Some have very high prices. An offer thus offers two places for the race for 575 euros, or 479 euros more than the normal price. However, the price is still “negotiable” according to the retailer.
The interest shown in these ticket resales is also felt in the Google searches carried out by Internet users: according to Google Trends, “GP Explorer ticket resale” is the query associated with the race most searched for by Google users in recent hours.
And the inhabitants of the Pays de la Loire seem to want to take advantage of the event since they are the ones that have carried out the most research on the subject, ahead of Lower Normandy and Brittany, other regions close to the Bugatti Le Mans circuit. .
